Hydrogen Engine

This heavy-duty engine for the truck, train and ship markets. Powered by its exclusive combination of hydrogen gas and Organic Rankine Cycle (‘ORC') turbines, Its patented engine promises to disrupt the EV and hydrogen fuel-cell industry with ultra-high efficiency, zero emissions, unmatched driving range and affordability.

Heavy-duty truck market which currently lacks any technology with comparable efficiency, affordability and zero emissions. Not requiring any rare cobalt, lithium, platinum, nafion, or ruthenium-based batteries, nor hydrogen fuel cells, the Engine is unprecedented in its sustainability & environmental friendliness and looks set to establish itself quickly as the leader in the race for a truly green powertrain premised entirely on renewables.

Hydrogen Engine

HyOrc makes use of an exclusive ORC turbine technology, featuring a patented design wherein steam generated during the combustion phase is harnessed to drive the secondary stage of the Rankine cycle process. This innovative approach significantly enhances the engine’s overall efficiency by maximizing the utilization of thermal energy derived from the combustion process.

HyOrc: Energy coversion

  • Oxygen and Hydrogen are mixed in precise proportions before entering 4 specially designed pulse combustion chambers.
  • Spark plugs ignite the Oxygen-Hydrogen mixture, creating a well-timed series of controlled explosions which create high temp/velocity H2O vapour travelling down to the first stage of our specially designed Organic Rankine cycle turbine.
  • Up to 8 pulses per second per chamber are initiated. A total of 32 pulses are initiated at maximum power with 7,500rpm maximum turbine speed.
  • More water vapor is produced using the “jacket heat” of the 4 combustion chambers, adding second stage power to the ORC turbine, thus boosting engine power and efficiency.

  • The turbine’s rotating motion is transferred to the vehicle drive shaft.
  • Turbine idle speed is 3,000 rpm.
  • Gear ratio 2.5
